Borage has large, fuzzy, cucumber scented leaves and star-shaped, vivid blue flowers. This versatile herb is primarily grown to attract bees, but its flowers are edible, and its young leaves can be cooked like spinch or used in salads. Borage grows to 100cm (39”) tall and is famously good at self-sowing. Enrich soil or compost by mixing in any volunteer seedling.
